SITELAB Architecture + Design

SITELAB Architecture + Design focuses on the poetics of building language, and meaningful inhabitation of the landscape. The practice investigates the broad context of “site” through client-driven projects, theory, and community collaborations. Designs examine transformation and reuse of what we have in abundance: existing building stock, underutilized urban and suburban landscapes, and repurposed materials.

Caryn Brause, founder and principal, is also Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at UMass, Amherst, where she teaches critical skills for contemporary practice. She is the author of The Designer’s Field Guide to Collaboration (Routledge 2017), and is a founding board member of the Journal of Technology | Architecture + Design(TAD), dedicated to the advancement of scholarship in building technology.
