WMAIA 2016 Design Awards
This program was once again co-hosted by the WMAIA and the Boston Society of Landscape Architects / Western Massachusetts Section. The program had been co-hosted in 2014 by the two organizations, as well.
The competition was open to any building type or landscape anywhere in the world completed at any time in the last ten years, by any architect or landscape architect whose principal office is currently located in Western Massachusetts (Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire counties), or who is a member of WMAIA. The sole criterion of the program is design excellence.
THUMBNAIL PHOTOS of all of the submitted projects are displayed below. The award-winning projects may be sorted by award category.
The jury was comprised of five architectural and landscape professionals from New England: Manuel Andrade AIA, of the firm Kenneth Irving, Architect PC, Suffern, NY; Greg DeAngelis AIA, from DeAngelis Architectural Services, Mamaroneck, NY; George Gaspar AIA, of Grandberg & Associates Architects, Mount Kisco, NY; John A. Imbiario ASLA, of IQ Landscape Architects PC, White Plains, NY; and Nicholas Viazzo Assoc. AIA, of J. Taylor Design Group New Rochelle NY
The WMAIA received twenty-one submissions. Five Citation Awards, four Merit Awards and two Honor Awards were presented.
Thank you again to all of the firms and architects who submitted work: your participation and enthusiasm keeps WMAIA strong.
