Brutalism enthusiasts, academic scholars, students, and professionals working in the fields of architecture and concrete restoration are strongly encouraged to attend a UMassBrut symposium titled, Brutalism + the Public University: Past, Present and Future.
UMass Brut, a collaboration between faculty, staff and students at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, will bring together a team of nationally renowned scholars, industry professionals, and passionate citizens to address issues related to Brutalist architecture, preservation, and rehabilitation of these architectural treasures.
The symposium is a two-day, in-person event held at UMass Dartmouth (a Paul Rudolph campus) on Friday, October 22, 2021 from 8 am-5:00 pm and at UMass Amherst on Saturday, October 23, 2021 (8 am-5:30 pm).
