Classified Ad Specifications

The WMAIA website will publish classified ads for job postings and for architects and allied professionals seeking jobs. This service is free of charge to members and member firms.

PLEASE NOTE:  In order to ensure that our Classifieds page is up to date, ads will be removed upon request from the posting member/firm, OR every 3 months – whichever comes first. If you’d like your ad to remain on the site for more than 3 months, please contact us prior to the end of each yearly quarter (end of March, June, September, December).

Ads must be a MAXIMUM of 150 words per position sought or offered. If your ad is more than 150 words the WMAIA reserves the right to shorten it. Please include preferred method of contact, and contact information. We will post ads within 3 days of receipt.

WMAIA posts jobs listing from Western Massachusetts firms (Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden Counties) and firms within a 25 mile radius of this area. Firms outside of this radius are encouraged to post on their local component website, which both employers and job seekers can access here:

PROJECT ARCHITECT
Bonham & Douglas, Northampton, MA

Lead projects from early design through construction administration; serve as the primary point of coordination for clients, consultants, and internal teams. Influence both design direction and technical execution, while mentoring junior staff and contributing to the broader growth of the practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead projects through all phases: schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration
  • Manage internal teams and coordinate with external consultants
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients
  • Manage, review, and produce schematic, design development, and construction documents for projects of wide-ranging size
  • Oversee project documentation, specifications, and technical detailing
  • Ensure quality control through internal QA/QC processes
  • Lead consultant coordination and integration of building systems
  • Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and professional judgment in solving architectural issues
  • Lead meetings with consultants, clients, and within office
  • Conduct site visits, review submittals, RFIs, and oversee construction progress

ARCHITECT

Austin Design Cooperative is a worker-owned architecture firm based in Brattleboro, VT, serving affordable multifamily, commercial, community, institutional, and custom home projects across Western Massachusetts, Vermont, and beyond. We are seeking a licensed Architect (NCARB) to join our team.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect with NCARB record (or ability to obtain reciprocity)
  • Experience: 10–15 years preferred
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks for design and drafting; Sketchup (or ability to learn quickly); Adobe; Microsoft Office.
  • Strong understanding of construction detailing and building documentation
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients
  • Ability to work independently
  • Commitment to sustainable design, cooperative values, and collaborative practice
